Making It Sewing Workshop

On-Going Sewing Classes - Register Now!

Our ongoing classes are the cornerstone of our schedule at Making It Sewing Workshop. Registered students have a 2-hour reserved seat at the same day and time every week or every other week. For beginners, we provide the first project. For adults, this is a t-shirt; for children, a pair of pajama pants. After the first project, students bring a project of their own choosing to make. We do maintain a small store with projects available for students without the time to make a trip to the fabric store. Our pattern company of choice is Kwik Sew patterns, available for purchase in our store. We ask that you speak with your instructor for guidance in choosing appropriate projects and materials.

Payments are made on a montly basis and the reservation is held indefinitely for adults and through the school year for children (summer children's classes are also available). We only ask that students give us 2 weeks notice if they wish to quit. The flexibility of this schedule allows students to come for a few weeks, months, or up sometimes even many years without the worry of having to re-register for a new session and potentially lose their seat in the class.

Students unable to attend a single reserved class need only give us 24-hours notice and they are able to make up the class at a different time. Please see our policies for a full list of scheduling and payment regulations.

Adult Classes - Register Now

We offer two levels for our adult on-going sewing classes. Our beginner/intermediate classes are for students who generally need the help of an instructor to sew. Most of our students enter classes knowing absolutely nothing about sewing with a machine or creating a project from a pattern. Students are guided at their own pace through learning the basics of a pattern and how to work a sewing machine. As students progress, they are guided through projects of increasing difficulty and new sewing challenges.

Children's Classes - Register Now

During the school year, children are scheduled in a reservation at the same day and time every other week* from September until the beginning of June. Children begin their sewing with a pair of pajama pants. They can then move on to projects of their choosing. We ask that you, the parents, speak with our instructors to ensure your child has projects that will ensure their success in sewing. The proper tools and project choices are essential in creating a happy, successful sew-er!

As with our adult classes, students may cancel their reservation with two-week's notice if they wish to quit. Students unable to attend a single reserved class need only give us 24-hours notice and they are able to make up the class at a different time.

Class Cost

Each student must pay a one-time registration fee of $20. For beginners, this fee covers the cost of the first project. Payment for the entire month is due by the end of the previous month.

Adult Beginners: $22 per 2 hour class
Children's Classes: $21 per 2 hour class
